Miss Rachelle
Born and raised in the small community of Morinville, Rachelle’s love for dance was ignited at the young age of three years old. As she grew up, she completed her RAD ballet examinations, as well as continued her training in jazz, tap, lyrical, modern, musical theatre and hip-hop. At the age of 19, she began teaching dance in the community, while attending the U of A for a Bachelor of Education with a major in drama. She continued to study and teach dance throughout her university career, furthering her experience and passion for the art. In 2015, she was approached to run a dance academy program at the local public school for grades 5-7. Excited at the opportunity, Rachelle had no idea what to expect, but kept an open mind towards the new challenges she would face. Combining both the fine arts and physical education curriculum, Rachelle built a successful program that encouraged dancers to express themselves emotionally and physically through dance, in a safe and supportive environment. Starting with only 10 students, the program expanded, eventually dividing into an elementary and junior high program with over fifty students. Over the years, Rachelle and her team of dance instructors took beginner and experienced dancers to create showcase performances, compete in festivals, partake in parades, and even perform at the Oil Kings games. Having built a reputable program, Rachelle made the decision in early 2022 that she was ready for new adventures and challenges. It was at this moment she decided she wanted to pursue her dream of owning and operating her own studio, and enjoy the opportunity of being a part of her own children’s dance education. Rachelle looks forward to being an advocate for dance in the community of Morinville, and cannot wait to see what lies ahead as her journey as a studio owner unfolds.
Rachelle continues to reside in the town of Morinville with her husband and two children, Jayden and Mikayla. She couldn’t be more thrilled that her children have a love for dance, especially her daughter. Rachelle cannot wait to see her children follow in her footsteps, and become the passionate dancers she is today.
