Teacher Strike Camps & Community Classes at MDS

We are excited to support our families and community during the teacher strike with a variety of camps and special promotions for ages 6–12 and beyond!
Please note that all classes and camps can be found under the teacher strike tab, making it easier for you to find available classes and camps.

Camps for Ages 6–12
Half-Day Camps
Bring: water bottle + healthy peanut-free snack
Includes: craft, physical activity & tons of fun!

Full-Day Camps
Bring: water bottle, healthy lunch + 2 peanut-free snacks
Includes: craft, physical activity & a whole bunch of fun!

Community Drop-In Classes with Miss Kristy (The Honey OM)
Our incredible Yoga & Zumba™ Instructor is offering:
Parent/Guardian + Child (12+) Drop-Ins
$15 for parent/guardian + 1 child
Extra children (12+) only $5 each → please note the number of extra kids in the comments at checkout
While you enjoy your class, our student teachers will run 1-hour sessions for kids under 12 (minimum age 5) for $5 per child.

  • Take the "work" out of workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. Once the Latin and World rhythms take over, you'll see why Zumba® Fitness classes are often called exercise in disguise.  It’s all about having FUN and dancing away the stress.

  • A slow-paced style of Yoga, that promotes stillness by holding passive postures to allow the deep connective tissues,(ligaments, fascia and joints), to yield and lengthen.  In each posture, we explore our “edge” and turn inward to cultivate mindful awareness through stillness.  This is a great class if you are looking for more of a meditative practice with affirmations.

  • This style of Yoga is known as Vinyasa or Power Flow, which has more dynamic poses linked together to create a flow.  This method of yoga is a great form of cardio as we move through Sun Salutations and can also help build strength, flexibility and balance.  From tree pose, to warrior flow, this is a well rounded class focusing on connecting breath with movement.

  • Join me for this 45min lunchtime stretch!  Sitting at your desk all day?  Need a break from the office?  I got you covered with this fusion of yin yoga, meditation and mobility stretches/movements that won’t build up a sweat.  This Stretch XPress class will recharge and recenter you for the remainder of your day

  • A 45min spin on your favourite Zumba class!  This 45min high energy class will add an extra pep in your step to conquer the day ahead.  You will be sweating all your stress away, ready to take on the rest of your day
